At their first regular meeting in May, the Brattleboro Selectboard will adopt a “Resolution for Compassion in Brattleboro,” and discuss diversity of Town staff. There will be a presentation by VTrans on reconstructing Putney Road, a pumper-rescue truck will be purchased, paving will be approved, an Energy Coordinator will be appointed, and another $70,000 in grant applications for for the Brattleboro skatepark will be pursued.
The Brattleboro Energy Committee will meet on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 5:00pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.

The Brattleboro Energy Committee will hold a special meeting on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 5:00pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
Here’s the full text of the resolution adopted Tuesday night by the Brattleboro Selectboard.
With two Brattleboro Selectboard members absent, Tuesday night’s agenda was both shortened of items and extended by additional background information for the benefit of new members.
The Brattleboro Traffic Safety Committee will meet on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 4:00pm in the Selectboard meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day will be officially proclaimed by the Brattleboro Selectboard at their next regular meeting at the Municipal Center on Main Street.
The Brattleboro Parking Department would like to announce the lifting of the winter parking ban. Starting 04/12/16, at midnight, overnight parking will be allowed on all streets EXCEPT in the downtown area. The following streets are never available for overnight parking:

The Brattleboro Arts Committee will meet on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 4:00pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
The next monthly meeting of the West Brattleboro Association (WBA) will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 6:00 PM in the Hayes Court Community Room on Garfield Drive (just west of the West Brattleboro Post Office). The evening will include guest speaker Cassandra Holloway of the Brattleboro Area Prevention Coalition, talking about efforts to address and prevent substance abuse.
The Brattleboro Selectboard recently announced that applications for the volunteer Town Energy Coordinator position are being accepted until 5:00pm on Monday, April 24, 2017. The position is defined in the Town Charter as follows: “Town Energy Coordinator: One 1-year term. The energy coordinator, created by the Vermont Legislature, reviews energy-related material received by the town and advises the town on energy conservation measures.”

The newly-formed board had a range of regular issues as well as a few “getting started” issues to attend to at Tuesday’s meeting. Public participation also returned, giving the board some additional points of view to consider.
The Town of Brattleboro would like to remind everyone that the snow emergency ban is in effect.
