The Brattleboro Department of Public Works would like to inform the public that a contractor hired by the Town will begin replacing the existing double culvert on Akley Road starting Tuesday, September 8 at 7:00 a.m.
The project is located approximately 2,000 feet east of the intersection of Akley Road and Goodenough Road, where the existing double culvert crossing will be removed and replaced with a new box culvert.
On Monday, September 23, the Highway Division will be replacing a failed culvert on Hinesburg Road. The closure will be near the intersection of Hinesburg Road and Nichols Drive. Residents and Emergency Services will be able to access addresses up to 1250 Hinesburg Rd via Hinesburg Road. Addresses 1279 Hinesburg Road to the Guilford Town line will need to use the marked detour, via Goodenough Road. Please plan accordingly and avoid the area if possible.
The Department of Public Works is happy to report that Renaud Brothers has completed the replacement of the stone culvert on Hinesburg Road that failed during the severe rainstorm on July 17. The guardrails have been installed and the roadway has been paved. Hinesburg Road is reopened to normal traffic, effective immediately.

Motorists and residents are asked to continue to use caution on roadways when approaching crews and equipment working on these repairs and to expect delays.
Hinesburg Road
The stone culvert failed at the intersection of Hinesburg Road and Melchen Road. The road will remain closed for several weeks while repairs take place.

The rain caused a great deal of damage throughout town and Town Officials are working with personnel from the State of Vermont and VTrans to manage and seek funding for these repairs.
Motorists and residents are asked to continue to use caution on roadways when approaching crews and equipment working on these repairs and to expect delays.
Bazin Brothers Trucking, Inc (a contractor of the town) will be paving Hinesburg Road between Quails Hill and the power lines (near #888 Hinesburg Rd.) The work will take place between 7am and 6pm on Friday, June 11, Monday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 15. There will be alternating one lane traffic in the area during paving. Motorists should expect delays in the area and seek alternate routes.

Starting Monday, October 5th, All States Asphalt (a contractor of the town) will begin the Contract #1 portion of our annual capital paving project. Weather permitting, the following schedule is anticipated:
Monday, October 5
New England Dr. – Access may be limited during paving operations. Paving operations may take several hours.
At 2:30 on Friday, July 12, Hinesburg Road has been reopened to regular traffic. The box culvert has been installed and there is still some work to be done at the site next week. While the rest of the work is completed, there will be one lane, alternating traffic in the area of 402 Hinesburg Road.
Starting Monday, July 8th, Hinesburg Road will be closed to through traffic in the area of 402 Hinesburg Rd. The closure is to install a new box culvert. Through traffic will be detoured across Mather Road to Bonnyvale Road, and through Lee Road. The detour will be marked. Residents within the closure will still have access to their homes.
