Celebrate Heirloom Apples at Scott Farm Orchard: 17th Annual Heirloom Apple Days— Now Two Days!

Due to the popularity of this annual harvest event, Scott Farm in Dummerston, VT, has extended Heirloom Apple Day, now in its 17th year, to two days on Sunday, October 13 and Monday, October 14 from 9-4pm!

Apple lovers of all ages are invited to come to Heirloom Apple Days and visit the 571-acre historic farm and orchard to experience some of the 130 varieties of heirloom apples grown there—fresh, baked and squeezed!

In addition to the popular heirloom apple talks and tastings, dry stone wall tours by The Stone Trust, and food vendors; new activities are in store for families such as make-your-own caramel apples and a scavenger hunt.


Dance Party on 4/7 for the Women’s Chorus!

What better way to celebrate the coming of spring than a Bayou-themed dance party with three local dance bands! Everyone is invited on Sunday, April 7 from 5:00-8:00 pm to the Vermont Jazz Center for music hailing from the Louisiana Bayou to the streets of Brazil and from points all over the Afro-Creole culture sphere. Featured will be two of Brattleboro’s signature New Orleans roots music ensembles, Bayou X and the Celebration Brass Band, with a special guest appearance by SOVESA, the Vermont Jazz Center Samba Ensemble. The event is a benefit for the Brattleboro Women’s Chorus (and it happens to be our director, Becky Graber’s, birthday).

Heirloom Apple Day at Scott Farm Orchard in Dummerston, VT beckons apple lovers of all ages to celebrate its many varieties of heirloom apples at this free annual event on Sunday, October 7 from 10am-4pm. Come visit the 571-acre historic farm and orchard and experience heirloom apples fresh, baked and squeezed!

In addition to the popular apple talks and tastings, hard cider tastings by Whetstone Ciderworks of Marlboro, VT, and food vendors, new activities are in store for families. Enjoy fiddle music by Molly Durling of Putney from 10AM-2PM, an art station for kids, and dry stone wall tours, at 11AM, 1 & 3PM, led by The Stone Trust of the Master Features Park and the stonewalls that enhance the grounds.


Draa Hobbs and John Stowell in Concert: A Fundraiser for WOOL-FM Black Sheep Radio and Stage 33 Live

On Sunday, September 23, Stage 33 Live in conjunction with Black Sheep Radio presents an afternoon of world-class jazz, including a workshop and concert, with guitarists Draa Hobbs and John Stowell. The event takes place at Stage 33 Live at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, and ticket sales benefit the venue and the radio station, two non-profit community arts organizations serving the greater Bellows Falls area.
