Recently, I saw a story about 12 senators sending a letter to the FCC about the Sinclair Broadcasting company..

This article is full of coincidences. 12 Senators on the 12th of April. April 12th is the 102 day of the year. 102 is 12 in numerology. In Gematria,  FCC=12 in English Ordinal. F is the 6th letter, C is the 3rd. 6+3+3=12. Think of the symbolism of the number 12. 12 months in a year. 12 disciples of Jesus, 12 tribes of Israel, 12  signs of the Zodiac. In this Monday’s lecture, Amer Latif, a professor of religious studies at Marlboro College, will give an overview of the Qur’an, and of Rumi and his thought.

Marlboro College Doing Just Fine?!

This morning’s article in the Reformer about Marlboro College was odd in a number of ways. First, they say they have a “structural deficit” of 3-4 million dollars a year. But they say that the endowment is sufficient to cover this loss. The endowment is only about $40 million. The 990 for 2015 showed a loss of $4,000,000 in total assets, indicating that this $4 million a year loss has been going on for awhile.

Red Sox Invite Brattleboro High School Students to Submit Applications for the 2018 Red Sox Service Scholarship

For the 8th consecutive year, the Boston Red Sox Foundation is seeking submissions from inspiring senior students, who are dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities, for the New England Red Sox Service Scholarship. The annual scholarship honors academically-inclined high school seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to community service. Those selected will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and recognition during a special pre-game ceremony at Fenway Park.

Report Hoped For on Tonight’s Brattleboro School Board Vote

At tonight’s Brattleboro Town School Board meeting there may be a vote taken on whether that board will support the Alternative Governance Structure proposal to the State Agency & Board of Education.  (See a letter to the editor in today’s Reformer.)  For those of us living in other towns, it feels just a tad inappropriate — tho it is perfecty permissible — to attend other towns’ meetings.  But it would be great if the result of this vote could be shared on ibrattleboro.  Thanks to whomever could attend the meeting and let us know.
