what do you do when you’ve got the end-of-the-world blues? You know: I ice is melting, our pollinators are dying, the sea is rising, the West Coast is burning, the East Coast is losing it’s beach front houses, fracking is depleting water supplies in America’s driest areas, landslides, sink holes, tornadoes, typhoons, earthquakes, fake clouds, drones, economy crashing, oil slicks, tsunamis, big floods, big droughts, nuclear pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, all this makes me sick!…need I say more? what-what-what do you do when this gets you down?

Does anyone know if there ia any kind of tenant rights organization or advocacy program available to low income residents in Brattleboro? I’m having an issue in my current apartment regarding a tenant smoking in a porch area that is the only access to my apartment. I was told that the building I live in was a smoke free building including common areas and despite the fact that the porch is technically outside this tenant’s cigarette smoke comes in my windows and every time I enter and exit my home I have to walk through a cloud of smoke. I have serious medical issues that are being made worse by this constant exposure to second hand smoke.

I’m looking for some legal advice as to how address this issue. Thanks.

I’ve heard about a mass mailing pertaining to irradiated water that could potentially affect residents of Brattleboro. I live outside of town, so I haven’t actually seen the mailing, but wondered who it was sent by. Also, what’s the deal with signing up for some type of pill just in case? I’m not trying to stir people up, I just wonder if anyone has more information about this mailing.

I participated in a Maker Faire on Cape Cod this weekend – wondering if anyone has tried to get a group going in Brattleboro? Seems like we have a lot of people around here who could contribute awesome exhibits and it’s a nice family-friendly attraction. The small Faire last weekend drew about 1000 people.

Anyone know a place, preferably in town or not very far off, to pick unsprayed dandelion leaves?  Thanks!

It does not seem right that someone else can fill your page with tasteless material.

I have been hearing that 5 Guys restaurant is coming to the old Pizza Hut location. But then I just heard that they could not be approved for a big enough sign by the town, so they went packing.

Hey, I have heard rumors of a program starting up in Brattleboro called solarize.  The rumors say it is about bringing the cost way down for home solar electric systems.  Does anyone have information?  I can find nothing on the town website or on iBrattleboro.

I was reading minutes of old Selectboard meetings from the 1950’s and noticed a mention of permission being granted for a banner to be hung advertising the Summer Ski Jump.

I had occasion to travel Putney Road today (Thursday) form about 3 till about 5, from the Common to Black Mtn. Rd..

For this entire time, traffic was bumper-to-bumper heading North.

Southbound was normal.

Does anybody know why the Northbound traffic was so slow?

I urgently need a tripod or tripod adaptor that will hold a Smartphone. I can’t find one in any local stores and the one I ordered online got lost in the mail. (I’m having really bad luck with this!!) I need this for a project that is due THIS FRIDAY 1/31/2014! So I need this in my hands absolutely no later than Wednesday (but tomorrow, Tuesday, would be better!!!).

Maybe car folks know the answer. Why are there more cars and trucks on the road with double exhaust systems? Isn’t one expensive enough?

It seems that whenever I’m stuck behind one, the smell of exhaust is amplified with these double muffler and tailpipe combos.

Just received a call from B.U.H.S. about some incident that occurred a the school yesterday involving a couple of students and police.

Cathy Barrows has been our Animal Control Officer for many years but she no longer is. Questioning at the Police Dept. brings “I don’t know” answers, as does asking at the Town Clerk’s office. Seems hush hush to me, but I think the public should know what happened to this loyal and knowledgable woman after so many years in the position. Does anyone know?
