Facebook Removals

Is there any way to remove stuff that other people put on your Facebook page?

It does not seem right that someone else can fill your page with tasteless material.

  • How do I permanently delete my account?

“If you deactivate your account, your Timeline disappears from the Facebook service immediately. People on Facebook won’t be able to search for you, though some info, like messages you sent, may still be visible to others. We also save your Timeline information (ex: friends, photos, interests) in case you want to come back.

If you don’t think you’ll use Facebook again, you can request to have your account permanently deleted. Please keep in mind that you won’t be able to reactivate your account or retrieve anything you’ve added. Before you do this, you may want to download a copy of your info from Facebook. Then, if you’d like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log into your account and let us know.

If you can’t log in to your account, you’ll need to reset your password first. To do this, go to http://www.facebook.com and click the Forgot your password? link below the password field. Once you’ve followed the instructions to reset your password and can log into your account, you can deactivate or delete your account using the steps outlined above.”

  • Is this unwanted content

Is this unwanted content coming from people that you have ‘friended” – that you allow to post on your FB page? Or is it advertising? If it’s the former you can block anyone from either having access to your page or you can put limits on what kind of posts you will allow from that person. Go to your account settings and click on the person (s) you want to limit or block. If it’s advertising I don’t know that there is much to be done. Unfortunately that’s how we all get to have “free” FB pages.

Thanks KAlden and Vidda for your suggestions.

The most offensive stuff was advertising, which appears just as though it is one of the postings on my page. The subject matter is totally incongruent of what my life is about.

There were also some “flat-earth” type religious material posted by my well-meaning, beloved nephew (which is not meant at all to be sarcastic. I really do have a particular fondness for my very decent and caring nephew). I responded to some of those with facts and logic, so I didn’t mind so much as I think it is a good thing that my nephew should run into some counter-arguments.

  • To Permanently Delete Social Media Sites

    Go to http://www.accountkiller.com/en/

  • Removing individual posts

To remove a particular post (though there’s nothing to do about ads) go to the top right corner of the post, where there’s a little arrow, and a drop-down will give you the option to delete the post.
