The energy of the Brattleboro Selectboard was spent on many issues of energy – from a demonstration of carbon use during a fuel oil purchase to appointing, oddly, multiple weighers of coal. Energy improvements were contemplated, but not firm enough to take hold quite yet.
The conversation about diversity continued, with a status report and a plan to survey experts and others in the community before jumping in with decided plans. Green Street and surrounding areas will get a new network of trails. And the board asked for an ordinance to ban single use plastic bags from retail outlets.
PART 10 (TEN) FEDERAL MARIJUANA LAWS: If Governor Phil Scott signs a compromise recreational marijuana legalization Bill on June 21 or June 22, 2017, after much slinging of the tongues in Montpelier, Vermont, can the United Nations then send in UN Troops to seize “legalized” marijuana? Huh? WTF? OMG! I hate to warn and inform you, but we really need to have a look at what on earth goes on at the United Nations!
ISiS doesn’t have planes.
The Brattleboro Selectboard will continue working on diversity issues at their next regular meeting at the Municipal Center. They’ll also start discussing the possibilities of plastic bag ban options for the town.
The Brattleboro Representative Town Meeting Finance Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 5:30pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.

For libraries, summer time means summer reading. This year’s theme is “Build A Better World,” and the Children’s Room will be busy providing new programs and continuing with previous popular summer programs.
The Town of Brattleboro is asking for help from anyone and everyone who is interested in promoting increased diversity on the Town staff. In addition to proactively distributing all future job opening notices more widely than in the past, the Town will send those notices to any individual or group who wishes to receive them.
PART 8 FEDERAL MARIJUANA LAWS: ( I’m not familiar with where you apply for grants for schools to keep the children off drugs, but you could try http://www.grants.gov Home | GRANTS.GOV https://www.grants.gov/ Apply for a Grant Online Now. Apply for grants by creating a workspace. Workspace enables you and your colleagues to edit online forms and apply together. (ps. and you might get more money if your school is not consolidated with some other schools; I can’t be sure, check it out! ) Title 20 USC, Education & Marijuana
PART 7 FEDERAL MARIJUANA LAWS “Prima facie”, in the law, means that if you have a state offense for marijuana spelled with a j in the law, marihuana spelled with an h in the law, or cannabis, then that is OBVIOUS that you may have also violated federal law. How many Vermont State Senators and Vermont Representatives know that they may be setting you up for a federal prison term, by their little ol’ Vermont slap on the hand statute?
Why it’s Sunday in Vermont, again, and time to get to know our existing, and in full force, NUDITY LAWS IN VERMONT! Whoops, and it might be so warm today, you might have thought of going skinny dipping. Well, leave the camera and video-camera at home! No wonder the motion picture industry rarely films movies in Vermont!
The Brattleboro Tree Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 7:00pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
Brattleboro Bridge Replacement Project Update: Week of June 12th
The Brattleboro Selectboard held an extensive discussion of diversity, both in Town hiring practices and the community at large. It was a start and step toward something probably positive, though the goals and steps to get there remain to be more fully developed.
Emergency repairs at the pool and the Harris parking lot were the other big items on the agenda, but the long diversity discussion made for quick summaries of these and other smaller matters due to a late hour.

Is it “entrapment” if you are not fairly warned and informed of all the federal marijuana laws?
Hello again, here are some more federal marijuana laws, and this is a biggie: did you know that if U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions gets too excited down there in Washington, D.C. that he could send federal agents to Vermont to arrest people under federal law for selling bongs and roach clips?
