TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

Vermont Route 9: (Night Work)

Flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns in all intersections and through single-lane closures on Vermont Route 9 beginning at the Edmund Heights intersection in West Brattleboro and progressing east to the Interstate 91 Exit 2 interchange. Work zones will be active from 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning. No street-side parking will be available in these areas of VT 9 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro to Putney (Day Work)

Flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns and assist motorists into driveways and side streets. After side road paving is complete, a single-lane closure will be in place on U.S. Route 5 for the application of final pavement. This lane closure will lengthen over the course of the day to a maximum distance of 1.5 miles and alternate between north- and south-bound lanes. From 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. delays are anticipated in this area.

Downtown Brattleboro (Night Work)

A mobile work zone is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. throughout downtown Brattleboro. Uniformed Traffic Officers will assist and short lane closures with alternating traffic patterns may be implemented at times.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

Vermont Route 9: (Night Work)

Milling of side roads and driveways in anticipation of paving will begin next week. Crews will continue to adjust drainage and utility structures throughout the project limits. Note: crews will have noise monitoring equipment to measure the decibel levels of this operation.

U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro to Putney (Day Work)

Milling and paving of side roads and driveways will continue until complete. Once finished, the final pavement layer will be applied.

Downtown Brattleboro (Night Work)

The vacuum truck will continue to clean out structures. This work is nearing completion, but they anticipate a couple more weeks of this operation as the crew is available.

This contract is a composite of three separate paving projects with detailed locations listed below. ADA evaluation of sidewalk and pedestrian crossings, sign replacement, guardrail repair and replacement, center line rumble strip location evaluation and installation, drainage work, and other highway improvements are also planned as a part of these projects.
