Brattleboro Vermont
A Sunday of September question.
In search of one word or short sentence that is a positive representation of Brattleboro. Brattleboro is known for Estey organs, strong art community, nudism, sweet water, the first large town of Vermont, and the strolling of the heifers.
If you were creating a profile for Brattleboro what would be the Avatar image you would choose to best represent Brattleboro?

Brooks House
For me, Brattleboro’s iconic image is the Brooks House tower corner and sign. It says welcome, stay a while, downtown is great, we do business, we appreciate our history, and more.
It rose from the ashes of our wooden Main Street and gave us bricks, marking the end of one era and the start of another. It’s been visited by Presidents and paupers. It’s the place we all watched go up in flames one night, and the place we look to as hope for the future as it is rebuilt.
A single word or phrase? That’s hard. It depends on the day. : ) “Unique” seems to hold true most days.
