Public Domain Fun

Here’s a little project I did to celebrate Mickey Mouse, and a handful of songs, entering the public domain in 2024.

I like to animate, and it was hard to resist playing with this early character.

  • Fun indeed

You could have a field day with this idea….once he was cut loose, flashes of Tigger and Mickey in a cat and mouse chase, then Mickey Coming of Age in Samoa, then aside Buster Keaton’s camera, then Mickey put against the wall by Mack the Knife and finally facing the Grand Inquisitor from The Passion of Joan of Arc before scuttling back to the cozy confines of Disneyland

Alas I don’t have the chops to do it, and not going get AI to do it for me. Lucky that Imagining stuff is still a viable option

    Nice work

    • Let's do it!

I know. I wish I had unlimited time and underwriting. : ) Maybe we do it with sock puppets?

This started as me making a Mickey rig in my animation software and seeing what it was like to make him move around. Then that led me down this path…

It’s been a few good years of public domain releases, even if they are old.

  • Such delights!

Your creative soul is obviously enthusiastically engaged, and we’re richer for it. THANKS!
