The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus welcomes new members to come to a rehearsal on Thursday, September 15 to see if Chorus is a good fit for them. Zoom rehearsals are also an option on Friday mornings.
The Chorus welcomes anyone ages 10 and up who identifies as a woman or non-binary, and whose vocal range comfortably includes the A in the middle of the treble staff.
You must email us in advance to reserve your Open Rehearsal slot. Please indicate whether you will attend the morning rehearsal at the Brattleboro Music Center from 10 – 11:30 am OR the Thursday evening rehearsal at the Kiwanis Shelter (in Memorial Park) from 6:30 – 8:00 pm (moving indoors to All Souls Church as the weather cools).
Proof of vaccination and singer’s masks with a filter or N95/KN95 masks are required for indoor rehearsals this fall.
Zoom rehearsals will take place weekly on Fridays from 10:30 – 11:45 am. HOWEVER just this week’s Zoom rehearsal will be recorded in advance and won’t be “Live.”
We hope to conclude our season with concerts at the Brattleboro Music Center in November, but you do not have to plan to participate in the concerts to sing in chorus.
Musical Director Becky Graber chooses an eclectic mix of music from around the world that is spirited, uplifting and easy to learn. The chorus learns through the oral tradition. Word sheets, part recordings and Zoom videos are available to practice with between rehearsals.
For those who decide to join, the cost for the fall session is a sliding scale of $85-$160 per adult with discounts for students and family pairs. Financial aid is available.
