Hand Cars Sent To Help Derailed Train

Event date: Aug 6, 1897

Apparatus was sent from this village Friday, on hand cars, to the point where the narrow gauge train was derailed that morning, and during the afternoon the train was replaced on the rails. The trestle on the West Dummerston bridge was also replaced during the week so that the regular evening train Saturday was able to cross the bridge.
