Brooks Memorial Library Closed for Martin Luther King Day

We will be closed on Monday, January 21st in honor of the life of Dr. Martin Luther, King, Jr. In 1983, President Ronald Reagan signed this holiday into law. You may read an article about that historic event here.

To learn more about Dr. King‘s work , here is a link to his 1961 “Address to the AFL-CIO Convention,” and his 1957 speech “Loving Your Enemies.” You can also check out his autobiography! For a more complete bibliography of his work and books about his life, visit the King Center website. Text and audio of some of his speeches are also available online.
