We should probably note for the on-going record that it is currently snowing in Brattleboro, and there is close to an inch of the stuff piled up on the ground. What makes this somewhat unusual is that we’ve had almost no snow in March, the temperatures were warmer than average, and everything had melted.
Spring was well on its way, with snowdrops, crocuses, and daffodils starting to blossom, leaves on some bushes and trees starting to bud, and birds returning from their migrations. Many humans had begun yard clean-up and spring cleaning. Now it is all put on pause until it watms back up.
According to WeatherSpark (in our weather links section), the mean temperature for today is about 49 degrees for a high temperature and 32 or 33 for a low. We’re a bit lower than usual right now and it is amplified by how much above the mean we have been in previous weeks. Forecasts show us getting back to the upper 40’s and 50’s later this week.

A neighbor who’s never taken the lights from a front yard bush has turned them on. 🙂 It does feel weirdly sane. This could well be the last snow cover we have til the end of the year. It’s so pretty outside right now!

It’s still steadily snowing. I may have to shovel today.
How soon we forget
The snow is of an amount that makes me forget that it was warm and spring-y just days ago. Amazing what just a few inches can do.
It’s a nice, light powder at the moment. Not too hard to brush off or push out of the way.
