Elliot Street Fire Relief Fund Established

Just when the weather is getting pretty cold, a recent apartment house fire rendered 17 people homeless here in Brattleboro. The Elliot Street Fire Fund has been established at TD Bank to help these folks.

While emergency relief agencies have seen to their immediate survival needs, there are also needs that won’t be filled because of limits to those agencies work programs and resources. Click the story title, above, for details.

Betty Frye has just forwarded me news of a way that community members can help these folks out. Bob Remy-Powers, the landlord, has set up a fund, called the Elliot Street Fire Fund, at TD Bank on Main Street, which will be be used to assist the people affected by the fire. Donations are being accepted there … make checks out to the Elliot Street Fire Fund.

Kindly share this news widely. Thanks!

  • Clothing drop off

Both Whippersnappers kid’s consignment shop on Putney Road (in the Aubuchon plaza) and Love it Twice shop in the old Comcast building on Black Mountain Road are taking donations. Best to call them -specific sizes are needed.
