Age Math Trick

Here is a math trick for you.

1. Start with your shoe size (No half-sizes, round up to nearest whole number).

2. Multiply it by 5.

3. Add 50.

4. Multiply by 20.

5. Add 1,013.

6. Subtract the year you were born.

The first digit (or first two digits) is your shoe size and the last two digits is your age!

  • typo??

Do you have a typo somewhere in your numbers? I’m not even close to the numbers you suggest will result.

  • Instructions got messed up

Step number 5 should read as “Add 1,013” and “Subtract the year you were born should be step number 6.

    How it should work:

    1. Shoe size: 13
    2. 13 x 5 = 65
    3. 65 + 50 = 115
    4. 115 x 20 = 2300
    5. 2300 + 1013 = 3313
    6. Say you were born in 1989…3313 – 1989 = 1324…
Your shoe size is 13 and your age would be 24.

I think gremlins messed up my instructions.

  • Help!!!

How come when I try to edit my article it re-formats itself to what it was before I attempted to edit it? Chris Grotke, help!!!

  • Thanks

Thanks to whoever helped fix my article so that it looks more professional!

  • Still not quite right

This only works if you’ve already had your birthday this year and of course, it will only work in 2013. It should read:

    5. If you’ve already had your birthday this year add 1013. If you haven’t already had your birthday this year add 1012.
