Car Crash On Route 30 Under 91 Bridge. No Official Report Released Yet

Cars were diverted from route 30 today, due to an accident that occurred close to the construction project near the 91 overpass. My boy and I saw the black cadillac that was severely damaged,on the back of a tow truck. We asked the tow truck driver what happened to the car, and he replied that the car struck the ledge near the bridge. The top of the car was basically shredded and looked like it may have been travelling at a high rate of speed. Of course, a ledge is an unforgiving and immovable object, so maybe high speed was not a factor.

My wife works at Fulcrum Arts. She witnessed the cars being diverted and sent on a detour. No cars were being allowed to drive under the bridge at around 2 PM. She saw tire marks leading into the ledge rock. No record yet in the police reports, nor in the local papers, but I am sure details will emerge soon. I was surprised however, that no record was yet posted, simply acknowledging that an accident occurred.

  • No High Speed Required

According to the Reformer, the top of the car was sheered off not due to a high speed at collision, but rather due to the fact that the “Jaws of Life” had to be used to free the victim stuck in the car.
