District 8 Meeting – A Community Conversation and Preparation
Room A – Community Meeting Room, Brooks Memorial Library, 224 Main St, Brattleboro, VT, 05301
Saturday, May 17, 2025 — 10:15 AM—12:15 PM
All are welcome to join District 8 Chair Gary Stroud for an important community discussion about the Town Budget and how it will impact Property Taxes and Town Resources.
This meeting is a chance for Brattleboro residents—especially those in District 8, represented by Rep. Mollie Burke—to learn about and share their views on the newly revised Town Budget coming before the Representative Town Meeting at the end of Tuesday May 27th 2025.
Come to ask questions, share your thoughts, and ensure your voice is heard! This is a valuable opportunity to connect with your Town Meeting representatives before the town budget is voted on.
It’s not on zoom unless you want to facilitate that for us which would be much appreciated.

It will not be aired on BCTV either. If anyone wants to stay and help clean up for the next group after ours it would be appreciated!
*Reminder:
The Town of Brattleboro has scheduled a Special Representative Town Meeting for Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 6:30pm in the Brattleboro Union High School Gymnasium.
An information session is tentatively planned for Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 7:00PM. District Caucuses will begin before the meeting.
“FYI”
1. “This is a informal district meeting”.
2. Just to make it clear that nobody will be “elected” or “appointed” at the meeting.
3. The meetings are not being organized by the Town, but rather by the elected District Chair of each District.
4. “Most Importantly”!…The Organized meeting will take place at a neutral, non-religious, non-partisan location. To truly hear the voices of all residents in the district, the location will be “Inclusive”!!!!
5. Lastly…The Town is not organizing or sponsoring the meeting, the optics can be that were involved, and the Town could have a lawsuit on their hands.
