Brattleboro faces demographic and economic headwinds. Communities across Vermont and New England are grappling with similar challenges and the status quo is not sustainable. A unified, informed, and committed effort toward the long-term economic health and resilience of the Greater Brattleboro community is required to remain affordable and attractive.

Featuring Kevin Chu, Executive Director of the Vermont Futures Project, a nonpartisan organization answering the mission question: “How can we use data to support the evolution of Vermont’s economy towards a thriving future with opportunity for all?” Chu’s work has taken him all over the state to develop an Economic Action Plan, helping to put Vermont on a path towards affordability and abundance.
Next Gen Brattleboro is a civic alliance of organizations, businesses, community leaders, and residents committed to Brattleboro’s long-term economic and community vitality and to building a broad movement to make Brattleboro a vibrant and affordable community for the next generation. The alliance will, among other efforts, champion the funding and implementation of catalyst projects to transform the town, and are committed to taking concrete actions that strengthen this region.
Special guests and local leaders will share progress, plans and exciting “wins” since the group’s gathering at the Retreat Farm in March and invite the community of Greater Brattleboro – longtime residents, local business owners, new arrivals, or simply anyone who cares about where Brattleboro is headed – to join them in sustained effort.
