I Had A Dream!

It was 2016, and I had been moved into a nursing home. My deaf room-mate had Alzheimer’s, and he insisted on watching TV whenever he was awake, which seemed like always. His favorite show was Fox News, so it was easy for me to keep on top of things in the “real” world.

As I mentioned, it was 2016, and the presidential campaigns were in full swing. The Dems had nominated Hilary Clinton, and in a surprise move, offered the VP slot to a newly minted Democrat, Chris Christie, Gov. of New Jersey. The Repubs chose Jeb Bush, and in a strategy to capture the Hispanic vote, selected Sen.Ted Cruz of Texas (dubbed the “Cruz Missile” by Geraldo Rivera).

As I was contemplating how to implement Vermont’s new Doctor-assisted suicide law, swooping out of Mexico like the Lone Ranger, galloped (drum roll please): James George Janos, AKA Jesse Ventura!

Then I woke up.

  • But what's really important...

How was the food in the nursing home?

    • Did you mean to say nightmare

Did you mean to say nightmare or dream? Did the nursing home have artificial lemon yellow jello or unadulterated lime green with flavor bits (pop rocks)? I’m thankful I do not have political dreams, maybe because we are over saturated in real life.

  • Interpretation

It seems to me the meaning is quite clear: stave off the nursing home by giving up Ben & Jerry’s, getting more exercise, and stop putting that hydrogenated oil in your gas tank! The only piece I’m confused by is Jesse. What was your sense of him upon waking — excitement? Foreboding? Was he going to be a game changer or a spoiler? Did he promise, on national television, to get you out of the nursing home? And why was he arriving from Mexico?

      Re: Ventura-
Excitement or foreboding? I’m not sure. He WOULD be a game changer, and the game needs be changed! The only thing that terrifies me more than a Billary regime is a third Bu$h in the Whitehouse.
Re: Mexico? That’s where he’s living now – in Baja.
