Rick Perry is the governor of Texas and will be Until January 21, 2015. He was a Republican candidate for President in 2012 and has been mentioned as a possible candidate in 2016 (Sorry, Jeb).
On August 15, 2014, Perry was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges for abuse of power. He was accused threatening a Democratic District Attorney who had been convicted of drunk driving. The indictment received some support and also wide criticism from all sides of the political spectrum, and editorial criticism from major US newspapers. He has not been convicted to date.

The laws are different for the 1%, but we can change that.
pshaw… didn’t everyone know? He’s a 1% Elitist, part of the Oligarchical class. The Laws of the land don’t apply to him; only to us lowly serfs. Even if, by some miracle, he was convicted, he’d probably get 1 day probation, and ordered to pay a dollar that he’d somehow get attached to a bill so that the taxpayers would end up covering the cost. Or a Koch bro daddy would pay it for him.
Unless we, the people, take back our gov’t, nothing will change. We can’t expect our Congress to do it for us, because almost everyone there is part of the problem. WE have to do it. And guess what? Our forefathers knew this could, and probably would, happen so they included the plan and rules for us to clean the mess up. It’s called Article V of the Constitution, and it allow us, the people, to take command over Congress, by engaging the power of the States.
The process has already started and is gaining momentum. Four states have already passed resolutions calling for a Convention of the States to overturn Citizens United, the landmark ruling that gave Corporations the Rights of “Personhood”. The resolutions of these states also demands that we add a 28th Amendment to our Constitution that clarifies “Personhood” as being for Human Beings only; thus, Corporations may no longer claim $$$ is “speech”.
Vermont, of course, was the first to pass this resolution (JRS27). Three others joined in 2014, and more than 20 other states have resolutions working their way up the chain. They need to pass out of Committee, to House and Senate. Most of the other States are within these three phases.
And, you can help. In fact, you should. This is a neither a Right Wing nor a Left Wing. It is all wings. And together we can make this new Amendment fly!
