Are You A Vermonter Who Winters In Florida? Here’s The Carpet Bagger Special!
Are you a Vermonter who winters in Florida? Wanna have some fun? Remember many years ago in 2000 when Hillary Clinton was a carpet bagger from Arkansas to New York, and she ran for office in NY and won? Are you a Democrat who lost the Nov. 5th, 2024 election in Vermont and you’ve been thinking of hiding your head in the sand? How about Florida?
So, About That Winter
Now that Spring is here, we can talk freely. We didn’t seem to get very much snow this winter. Felt pretty warm, too. Is the end of snow near?
This is very much like the weather used to be in the mid-Atlantic. When I was in DC in the late 80’s and early 90’s, it would get cold, but there was barely any snow. A half an inch would surprise people and shut things down. We got much more slush, and that would freeze into ruts because there wasn’t a good plow system in place.

The Long Winter Ahead
When the pandemic started to take over our lives the spring season of growth and rebirth was providing us with some positive energy. As bad as things seemed, many were able to adapt to a life outdoors making the best of a bad situation.
If the federal government had made an effort to mount a unified response to the pandemic we would now be able to hunker down for the winter with the hope that the spread of the virus was controlled to some degree. Instead, the virus is out of control and the number of new cases continues to climb every day.
