This is a real email I received. Loaded with red flags that it’s not legit, if you are paying attention!
1) Grammatical error in subject line
2) When you expand the From email address (if you can), it’s obviously not an Apple email, in fact it’s from Italy!
3) If your email program is capable of displaying the additional information, the time zone and coordinates are definitely not California.
A friend and I have both received calls that show up on caller ID as coming from our own phones. I didn’t pick up, figuring it was a scam. She did, and it was a man with an accent telling her her credit card was overdue. She hasn’t had a credit card in many years.
Well at least I know it wasn’t a killer in my house, or future me calling to tell me something important, as another friend suggested. Just another scam.

Someone took my boy’s “Roadmaster” BMX bike. It is glossy black, with green handle grips, and has a black chain guard. We can’t remember if we wiped out all of the purple letters on the old chain guard or left some on, so there may still be some purple letters left.
The value of the bike is really derived from the effort he took in redecorating it. He actually worked on removing the old grips himself.

Uri Avnery is an Israeli writer and founder of the Gush Shalom peace movement. A member of the Irgun as a teenager, Avnery sat in the Knesset from 1965–74 and 1979–81. He was also the owner of HaOlam HaZeh, an Israeli news magazine, from 1950 until it closed in 1993.
He is famous for crossing the lines during the Siege of Beirut to meet Yassir Arafat on 3 July 1982, the first time the Palestinian leader ever met with an Israeli. Avnery is the author of several books about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including 1948: A Soldier’s Tale, the Bloody Road to Jerusalem (2008); Israel’s Vicious Circle (2008); and My Friend, the Enemy (1986).
