Donations Needed for Coffee Break at the Vermont Welcome Center

The Dummerston Community Center is holding an all day bake, snack, coffee fundraiser at the Vermont Welcome Center, on Friday, June 26th from 7:30 AM to 7 PM. We need your donations of baked goods, snacks, fruit, veggies, coffee, coffee cream, bagels etc.

Any donation food, gift certificates or money would be greatly appreciated.Volunteers to help on the 26th at the snack tables are also needed.


Solarize Dummerston June 1 – Oct 1

Announcing Solarize Dummerston – a program created by volunteers to help you go solar. Solarize programs help lower the cost for installers and for participants by using volunteer and grass root efforts.

Goals:

Launch the Solarize Dummerston Program in Early Summer 2015
Simplify and de-mystify the process of going solar for the consumer.
Educate those interested in Solar on the options available as well as the technology.
Options will include roof mount PV, ground mount PV, as well as community solar.
Select an installer who offers a low cost quality product through group purchasing power.


Dummerston Community Center Spring Tag Sale!

The much-anticipated Spring Tag Sale happens this Saturday, March 22nd from 9:00 AM until noon at the Dummerston Community Center, in scenic West Dummerston village. Items for sale include books, toys, games, kitchenware, clothing, footwear, and miscellaneous treasures. The sale will benefit the Center’s operating and maintenance costs. Investigation into Double Fatal Fire in Dummerston, VT

Dummerston, VT – 1/6/14 – At approximately 5:00AM on January 6, 2014, Keene Mutual Aid contacted the Vermont State Police requesting a fire investigation at a residence located at 420 School House Road in Dummerston. The fire was initially reported at 4:41AM and fire personnel from the Putney, Guilford, Brattleboro, and West Dummerston Fire Departments responded immediately to the incident. The fire destroyed the residence, however firefighters were able to contain the fire; thereby preventing damage to the surrounding residences.


Archer Mayor Talk at Dummerston Community Center

Archer Mayor will be present and discuss his latest Joe Gunther mystery novel “Three can keep a Secret” on Monday Nov. 18th, at 7 PM at the Dummerston Community Center.

Autographed new and recent novels will be available for purchase, to benefit the Dummerston Community Center operating and maintenance expenses. The Community Center is located at 150 West Street in West Dummerston Village, and is Handicap accessible.

 


Dairy Nutrition Program with Amy Fletcher

Dummerston Cares will present the program “Dairy Nutrition” with Amy Fletcher, Nutritionist.
Monday, Nov.18th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

The program and light luncheon will be held at the Dummerston Community Center located at 150 West Street, in the West Dummerston Village. Amy will present a short Power Point presentation and a brief talk on nutritious dairy products, followed by general participation and conversation.


Dummerston Emergency Fuel Fund Supper Fundraiser

A Baked Bean & Ham supper will be held on Saturday Oct. 26th from 5-7p.m. at the Evening Star Grange in Dummerston Center.
Delicious baked beans, baked ham, (hot dogs if preferred) with tasty scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, marinated carrots, and rolls. Yummy gingerbread with real whipped cream for dessert.

Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 5-12 years old.
Take-out is available. Call 254-1138 between 5-7 p.m. on the 26th to order.


Dummerston Tag Sale

The Dummerston Community Center will hold a tag/rummage sale on Saturday, August 10th, from 9-noon.
Items for sale include clothing, furniture, games, books, toys, kitchenware and much more.
Coffee and Lester’s donuts will also be for sale. 
The sale will benefit the Dummerston Community Center’s operating and maintenance costs.

Power Out in Dummerston

The power at our world headquarters on Cedar Street was knocked out for a short while today, but a problem said to be at the Dummerston substation has kept over 1,700 without power in Dummerston this afternoon. Green Mountain Power has the outage listed and is working on restoration of services.


Dummerston Covered Bridge Damaged

that box truck shattered a cross beam and tore trim off of the covered bridge over the West River at Dummerston. 

Police are looking for the driver of the truck, according to the report. The bridge is said to be safe for travel, despite the damage.


Dummerston Selectboard Meeting From February 27, 2013

Do to a technical problem, BCTV was forced to reschedule the regular play-out of the Dummerston Selectboard meeting from February 27, 2013.  The issue has been resolved, and the meeting can be seen this evening on BCTV channel 10 at 6:15 pm.
