A great place for children who like to make things with their imagination and hands; who want to create fun friendships; who like to play games where everyone wins; who like healthy, yummy snacks; who want to play outside as well as inside; who want to learn “giraffe language”; who like magical creative things; who like to laugh and have fun!

that box truck shattered a cross beam and tore trim off of the covered bridge over the West River at Dummerston.
Police are looking for the driver of the truck, according to the report. The bridge is said to be safe for travel, despite the damage.
Many of us at The Putney Inn have worked together for decades to excel at what we love. We love the satisfaction of success, success in providing exceptional service and in offering extraordinary food.
The Putney Inn has been under the ownership of the Ziter family for more than thirty years. Located seven miles north of Brattleboro, Vermont in the Village of Putney, The Putney Inn offers a charming and calming alternative to the commercialized frenzy of “the city.” Easily off Exit 4 of Vermont Interstate 91, our location makes us convenient to all of southern Vermont and northwestern Massachusetts.
Hot Wheelz Cycle Studio, Putney’s newest Spinning (indoor cycling) facility will be offering 6:00 AM classes starting on March 26th.
Early classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, in addition to the host of other classes that are currently being offered. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the studio yet, we would love have you come by for a visit.
I had an opportunity to read Newfane’s 154th Annual Town Report this weekend and am moved to give a shout-out to all the paid and volunteer folks who absorbed the huge amount of time associated with the aftermath of Storm Irene.
Thanks for all you do!

Did you see the article in the Reformer that VTEL has identified an alternative site for a tower near the Village of Newfane? What do you think is going to happen next? NIMBY action or is this going to happen?
Author Elizabeth G. Macalaster will be presenting her new release In Disguise! at the Putney Public Library Thursday, March 7, 2013, 7-8:30 pm.
Spanning more than 300 years and 10 countries, In Disguise! tells the stories of history’s most daring women, from Harriet Tubman, who freed hundreds of slaves during the Civil War, to dancer Eva Wu, who hid secret messages in her hair to aid the Chinese Revolution. Its gripping true stories, secret-agent tips, and spy trivia feed a growing appetite for intrigue and adventure in young readers.
The annual Sugar on Snow Supper will be held Saturday, March 2, at Broad Brook Grange in Guilford. Traditionally the first sugar supper in Windham County each year, the meal features ham, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, rolls, pickles, homemade donuts, and Guilford maple sugar on snow.
There will be three seatings: at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 pm. At each seating, a half-gallon of Guilford maple syrup will be raffled.
It’s in the Calemdar already, but I got the feeling iBrattleboro wants Guilford news & this seems to be it for this week. (I do see your note in the guidelines saying events should go in the Calendar, maybe not here, so am not sure you want this here, but anyway!!!)
This Thursday at Broad Brook Grange at 7 pm is the annual pre-town meeting. First the Selectboard, then School board, will outline the items they’re going to be bringing to the voters on Mar 5. This is good venue to ask questions in an informal setting. Candidates for Town & School Board offices are also asked to attend to introduce themselves. Guilford doesn’t get as fancy as having a candidates’ forum, so this is it.
As you can see, you have a brand new section of the site to publish Guilford news, events, and commentary. Your stories will still go on the homepage first, like all others, but now they can all be found in one place.
Chesterfield, Deerfield Valley, Dummerston, Hinsdale, Marlboro, Putney, Vernon, and West River Valley are also included in the regional section.
