Brattleboro’s Dick DeGray was mentioned in the State of the State address today during a section about volunteering for his years of downtown flower care. The governor pondered DeGray’s retirement, asking the question: “So, the question is, who’s going to water the flowers?”

Should Americans, and the rest of the world, worry about the current outbreak of Monkeypox? It doesn’t look like it will cause the same level of morbidity and mortality that COVID has caused, but it does have the potential to infect a lot of people.
It’s worth knowing the history of this disease. As reported in the Smithsonian magazine, “Since it was first identified in a colony of monkeys in Copenhagen in 1958, monkeypox has been largely overlooked by the Western world. An infectious poxvirus that causes fever, chills and rashes, the disease is endemic, or consistently regionally present, in ten African countries. Until recently, however, it was rarely found in Europe and the Americas—a trend that has, historically, led Western public health officials to disregard its spread elsewhere.”
Montpelier, Vt. – Governor Phil Scott today announced the resumption of additional business operations, including outdoor seating at restaurants and bars, hair salons and barber shops and some additional health services.
“I believe these steps forward will be welcome news for many and because Vermonters are being smart to stay safe, our data continues to show we’re still moving in the right direction,” said Governor Scott. “As more Vermonters get back to work and there are more places to visit and meet with others, it is more important than ever to stay vigilant about your health and the health of others.”
When it comes to solving the irritating problems of daily life some of us are more persistent than others. I am one of those people who looks at all of the roadblocks to resolution as a challenge. Giving up is never an option. It means being labeled a pain in the ass, but it is a label I proudly embrace.
Recently, I was billed by Comcast for $108 in services I did not order. I don’t know how my account was compromised but, during the month of October, someone ordered on-demand movies and a streaming subscription.
Emerald ash borer is here. Infestation has been verified 20 miles away. It is a killer; now is the time to vaccinate any ash trees you want to save, because by the time you find the pretty green insect on your tree, or notice the damage, it will be too late. Infested trees die from the top of the crown down; by the time you can see from the ground that you have damage, the tree will be too far gone to save.
How do I know if I have ash trees?
This talk will focus on the issue of free speech on college campuses. Owens brings first-hand experience of the challenges faced by Middlebury College during the March 2017 visit by author Charles Murray, which was disrupted by hundreds of student protesters.
In December it was announced that a chess player with four hours of training beat the world’s world champion chess-playing program. The player was AlphaZero, an AI (artificial intelligence) program operated by Google.
June 21, 2107 So much for my previous astrological prediction of some kind of news announcement today. Oh well, they did announce an electrical outage for a short period at the State House. That didn’t stop their tongues from flapping on the roofs of their mouths, they just brought in a generator. U.S. News & World Report, 6 hours ago, MONTPELIER, VT (AP) “Power has been restored to the VT Statehouse following about an hour-long outage as legislators were…” So, while I was still waiting for some news on marijuana legalization, I studied other seriously important astrological issues, combined with real life Space astronomy, that yield amazing new predictions!
This election is like opening a box of Cracker Jacks.
God only knows what Trump might do.
I take that back, God doesn’t know, and neither does Trump.
In the contradictory and bizarre word salads Trump serves up he is liable to say just about anything. In his speeches and tweets, he often starts with “a lot of people say,” followed by looney tunes claims and ending with, “you can look it up on the Internet.
However, I don’t believe he’d lead us to war.
“Guy Davis. He’s out of New York, and he’s America’s greatest link to the blues right now.” ~ Windsor Star, Ontario, Canada. July 31, 2015.
Strolling of the Heifers presents An Evening with Guy Davis — a fundraising event for Strolling of the Heifers on Friday evening, October 9 at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden (157 Main Street, Brattleboro). A widely-known American blues musician, Guy Davis last appeared in Brattleboro in a memorable concert alongside the legendary Pete Seeger in 2008 (also a Stroll fundraising event).
DESCRIPTION:
Another killing of GIs by a Muslim American. Most Americans will confine their judgement and emotions to this one specific quadruple murder, and this will be helpful to those, who have invested in profitable genocides from Korea onward in their continuing to stay under the radar. Insidious US media will make sure the deaths of the four Marines and Abdulazeez play out well for its ISIS hoax and Christian-Israeli hate Islam campaign.
DESCRIPTION:
With the absurd US list accusing other nations of sponsoring the terrorism, which the USA has created since WWII highlighted in the news for Cuba having been now taken of the list, your author would like to see the tens of millions of survivors of US genocidal terror ask everyone with a computer to google ‘US sponsor of ISIS,’ and see the first dozen entries that come up. Eventual lawsuits will punish investment in genocide.

Who will win January 8, 2015 for Governor? Will Astrology and Astronomy combined, tell us?
Astrological analysis of the top 2 voter getters, keeping in mind that the 3rd, Dan Feliciano, might win – a meteor may fly over Montpelier, a falling star could hit the Capital Dome, so don’t discount Dan; after all, I think he and his wife are definitely the friendliest of the bunch!
PETER

Someone took my boy’s “Roadmaster” BMX bike. It is glossy black, with green handle grips, and has a black chain guard. We can’t remember if we wiped out all of the purple letters on the old chain guard or left some on, so there may still be some purple letters left.
The value of the bike is really derived from the effort he took in redecorating it. He actually worked on removing the old grips himself.
Chris Martenson is a guy from nearby Montague Mass. He appears from time to time in Brattleboro. He’s a very bright guy with a PhD in neurotoxicology, but his real strength is economics.

GMO foods? Why not mix wine grapes and marijuana, or beer hops and marijuana?
Have fun with genetically engineered and genetically modified foods and cross- breeding? Would it be legal now in Colorado and Washington?
I was thinking today about genetically modified and genetically engineered foods, and the lack of labeling, so far.
