We continue, despite almost no one paying attention or wearing masks despite new variants that vaccines don’t protect against, regular COVID-19 dashboard numbers from the Vermont Department of Health, and MA and NH counties that surround Brattleboro, as long as they continue providing them. Scroll down the new comments for the latest.
Vermont and NH have very limited looks at what are going on these days. Massachusetts continues with the same information as always, and this has become what I consider to be the most reliable gauge of what’s going on. MA was always a bit lower than VT when everything was being reported.

The seven-day rolling average of hospital patients admitted with a laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 infection peaked in January 2022 and increased again throughout April and into early May. After several weeks of a downward trend, the seven-day number of new admissions with a COVID-19 infection rose throughout the past week. The number is the daily average of the previous seven days; for example, the value for May 28 is the daily average for the days of May 21 through May 27.
During this reporting period around 2% to 3% of emergency visits in participating emergency departments have included COVID-like illness. This is slightly higher than the same calendar dates in the previous two years.
There were only 5 Vermont specimens sequenced from the week of 6/19, four of which were BA.5 and one which was BA.4. CDC’s Nowcast shows about half BA.2.12.1 and half BA.4 / BA.5 for the week of 6/19 for all New England states.
