Some Like it Hot to show July 25 at 7:00 p.m. Play it cool now to shed some warmth this winter
For Immediate Release – On July 25 at 7:00 p.m., Latchis Arts offers Some Like It Hot, another in their series of Movies-By-Donation, following Singin’ in the Rain and Bringing Up Baby.
Some Like It Hot is a Marilyn Monroe classic with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. When musicians Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon witness a mob hit, they hop a train disguised as women in an all-female band. Hottest real woman? Marilyn Monroe! This classic of comedy and romance has been a hit since 1959.
Come for a hot night on the old town at the cool Latchis and give generously because this Latchis Arts Movie-By-Donation is a benefit for the Windham County Heat Fund, as well as support for Latchis Arts. The Windham County Heat Fund raises money to purchase heating fuel for families in need. Last year 100 families were helped by the fund. The WCHF relies totally on the generosity of the community.
And oh yes, there will be a Marilyn Monroe look-alike contest. Don your best Marilyn and win a glamorous Latchis Hotel bathrobe, one size fits all movie stars.
The raffle drawing for a set of Italian crystal zodiac cordial glasses will also be featured on July 25. Raffle tickets are $5 for one, or 5 for $20 and are available at the Latchis Hotel or at the theatre that night. The raffle benefits The Campaign for The Heavens and the Earth, to replace the seats and restore the historic zodiac ceiling at the Latchis.
Heat Up the Latchis joins Load the Latchis on July 30 and Rock the Latchis on July 31 in the countdown to August 1, when the seats and ceiling renovations in the main theatre will begin.
