JOIN THE ENSEMBLE Tiny Theater is currently forming a three month (90 Day) workshop for playwrights and screenwriters who believe the only way to find a story is to put it on its feet. By integrating a core group of trained Tiny Theater character actors in stage and screen, we transform the traditional “reading circle” into a high-functioning rehearsal hall and film set. The Multi-Phase approach includes the following progression
1. WRITE: Create & Develop Original Development: Develop original plays and screenplays in a generative, supportive setting. Structured Feedback: Move beyond simple critique with feedback designed to help you shape and evolve your work. Ensemble Engagement: Engage with a full creative ensemble of writers, directors, actors, and dramatists from the very first page.
2. STAGE: Rehearse & Refine The Actor’s Lens: Utilize our core group of trained actors to move your pages off the desk and into physical space. Workshop Scenes: Actively workshop scenes to test dialogue, rhythm, and character beats Screen Integration: For filmmakers, the workshop allows you to shoot and review short-form video to test visual storytelling.
3. PERFORM: Present & Interact Staged Readings: Transition from the rehearsal hall to the stage with readings performed by our trained ensemble (Classical theater acting training in Meisner, Lewis, Adler, Strasberg, Uta Hagen, and others) Invited Audience Readings: Share finished and in-progress pieces with a curated audience to gauge impact and clarity. Talk-backs & Commentary: Every presentation concludes with structured feedback, talk-backs, and interactive commentary to provide the writer with actionable insights for the next draft.
4. GROW: Collaborate & Evolve Professional Growth: Collaborate with directors, actors, and editors to sharpen your craft. Open Access: Our doors are open to storytellers of all experience levels who are ready to see their work take the stage.
