PUTNEY — Next Stage Arts invites the community to celebrate 16 years of programming and the 10th anniversary of the major renovations that transformed its historic Putney church building into the vibrant community and performance center it is today.
Next Stage’s Sweet 16 takes place Friday, October 9, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill in Putney. The free event will feature cake, popcorn and snacks, a live instrumental trio, and a cash bar, followed by an upstairs DJ dance party beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The evening will also mark the unveiling of three new community-made banners centered on Next Stage’s core values. Created with input and support from people throughout the community, the installation is a public expression of the organization’s commitment to its work in the years ahead.
Visitors are also invited to stop by the gallery to view Next Stage’s strategic plan, learn about upcoming workshops with Amber Paris, and share feedback about the organization and its future.
“Sixteen years of Next Stage is really a celebration of the people who have built, supported, attended, volunteered, performed in, and shaped this place,” said Next Stage Arts staff. “We hope everyone will come enjoy some cake, dance, and help us celebrate what this community has made possible.”
The event is supported by the Vermont Community Foundation’s Arts & Social Cohesion grant, which is helping fund this celebration and other community events throughout the year.
Next Stage’s Sweet 16 is free and open to all. No reason is needed beyond wanting to celebrate.
