Brattleboro Women’s Chorus Concerts: Keep Hope Alive

The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus will present their annual fall concerts, “Keep Hope Alive,” on November 17 and 18 at The Brick Church (formerly the Baptist Church). Joining the eighty women and director Becky Graber will be Cathy Martin on piano, Julian McBrowne on bass, and Lisa McCormick on guitar and with her ukulele orchestra.

Several songs will feature arrangements by local musicians – Andy Davis’s four-part arrangement of “Let the Life I’ve Lived” and Peter Amidon’s “Crossing the Bar.” Graber arranged the wondrous song by India Arie, “I Am Light.” There will be songs that were learned by the nineteen chorus members who attended the Sister Singers Festival in Michigan last summer, including “With Great Love,” “Stand in That River,” and “Walk My Own Revolution.” And the title song, “Keep Hope Alive” by Ysaye Barnwell promises to be a grand finale with ukuleles, bass, singers, and audience all involved.

The concerts will be on Saturday, November 17 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 18 at 4:00 pm, both at The Brick Church (formerly the Baptist Church), 190 Main Street. Tickets are available at BrownPaperTickets.org or at the door and are $12 Adult, $20 Generous, and $10 Student and Senior. More information is at BrattleboroWomensChorus.org or 802-254-8994.
