PUTNEY — Next Stage Arts and Twilight Music present a Singer/Songwriter Showcase featuring The Clements Brothers on Saturday, October 3, at 7:30 p.m. The evening begins with an in-the-round set by Charlie Chronopoulos, Leaf Silver & B.E. Farrow, and Talley Summerlin, before identical-twin duo George and Charles Clements take the stage.
The Clements Brothers bring a distinct blend of close vocal harmonies, instrumental virtuosity, and deeply felt songwriting. George, on guitar, and Charles, on bass, first entered the Americana scene in 2012 as members of the internationally touring grassroots band The Lonely Heartstring Band, which released two albums on Rounder Records. Since then, George has portrayed Paul Simon in the national production The Simon & Garfunkel Story, while Charles has performed in the bass section of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
As a duo, the brothers draw together those varied musical paths into a sound that is both intimate and expansive—at once groovy and serene. Their 2023 debut album, Dandelion Breeze, introduced their warm, harmony-rich songwriting, and a sophomore release is planned for fall 2026.
The opening round-robin set highlights three compelling regional songwriters. Lowell, Massachusetts–born Charlie Chronopoulos combines indie, alt-country, and dark-folk storytelling. An RIAA Gold-certified producer and session guitarist, he has contributed to releases by Jelly Roll, Joyner Lucas, and O.A.R., as well as Saturday Night Live sketches featuring Chris Stapleton and Ryan Gosling. He is also a New England Music Awards Album of the Year nominee.
Leaf Silver writes songs that transform complicated emotions into resonant, memorable melodies. They perform both as a solo artist and with multi-instrumentalist B.E. Farrow, as well as with their band, Leaf Silver and the Sweethearts.
Talley Summerlin fronted the modern-rock band BE throughout the 1990s, releasing six independent albums and sharing stages with Better Than Ezra, Deep Blue Something, and Human Radio. His 2012 EP, Shake the Gates, found a more introspective and lushly produced sound; he is now working toward new material planned for 2027.
