Twilight Music continues its 15th annual Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of folk-rock, world beat, rock, pop, Celtic, blues and bluegrass summer concerts on Sunday, July 23 with The Gaslight Tinkers. The seven concert series continues every other Sunday through August 20. All concerts begin at 6:00 pm in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain. The series is sponsored by the Town of Putney, Green Mountain Well, Soundview Paper Company, The Putney Food Co-op, The Stockwell Brothers and many other Putney businesses and organizations. The concerts are free to the public (donations are accepted) and food will be available. For more information, call 802-387-5772 or visit www.twilightmusic.org.
Thanks, as always, to ibrattleboro for welcoming Guilford announcements. & actually in this case kids from other towns may attend this session for a modest $50 for the week. (We think that’s a pretrty good bargain for a day camp that includes breakfast (kids can bring lunch, and there are snacks throughout the day, too;) theater games and acrtivities with two wonderful teachers, afternoon activities and time outdoors, and a pretty good-length day 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. And any child needing transport can arrange for one of the staff, including Lbrary trustees and othger parents, to carpool.

West Brattleboro, Vt. – “The Art of Poetry,” an exhibit of paintings and poems by Lynn Martin, will grace gallery spaces at All Souls Church through the end of August. An opening reception this Saturday, July 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., offers visitors an opportunity to speak with Lynn about her creative process as an artist and poet, and to enjoy a table of savory and sweet refreshments.

Brattleboro is about to change from dual stream to single stream recycling on July 3. The Town of Brattleboro sent out a postcard with a reminder of this date, and a reminder that another big change is coming: plastics 1-7 will now be collected.
Shoot the Moon Theater Company continues its 2017 season at the Hooker-Dunham Theater with, “Trump’s Fifth Avenue: A Political Fantasia.” Show times are 7:30PM on Friday and Saturday, July 14-15 and July 21-22.

The call for entries for the Vermont Center for Photography’s 2nd Juried Photographic Book Exhibition “By the Books” is open until July 15, 2017. Noted photographer, Henry Horenstein will jury this exhibition Opening on August 4, 2017, it will showcase a wide variety of outstanding photographic books from artists around the world. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to “break out of the frame” and share your photographic work in an alternative format. All submitted books will be reviewed by our juror who will be solely responsible for selecting the books to be on display.

Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present an evening of contemporary bluegrass and folk music with The Lonely Heartstring Band and The Stockwell Brothers Band at Next Stage on Friday, June 30 at 7:30 pm.
