With Something for Everyone, Bellows Falls Declares May, as Art Month in Bellows Falls

Bellows Falls, VT (May 3, 2022)—Today, Bellows Falls designates the month of May as “May, Art Month in Bellows Falls,” a town-wide celebration to build awareness and appreciation of the arts and businesses throughout the town from May 9 through Memorial Day Weekend. May, Art Month in Bellows Falls will highlight the arts and the cultural community, as well as the entire town including local businesses, creative entrepreneurs, and artists.

“We will be highlighting artists, events, shops, and restaurants that contribute year-round to the vital and cultural richness and economic stability of the community,” says Robert McBride, founder, and director of The Rockingham Arts & Museum Project (RAMP).

Making Flower Presses with Tom Bodett

Join writer, humorist and furniture maker Tom Bodett for a fun, collaborative workshop making flower presses.

Tom has designed a workshop format in which participants get to practice their woodworking tool skills by using them in a repetitive fashion. Together, the workshop participants will make twenty 5 1/2″ x 11″ flower presses. Each participant will take home 2 presses – just in time for spring and summer blooms.

Kumiko is the Japanese technique of assembling wooden pieces to form patterns, without the use of nails or glue. The patterns range from very simple to very intricate. Kumiko panels can be used decoratively, to make lamps or screens and more.

Small World

It was a year like this one: very little snow in New England. All the local ski areas were hurting.

The Laurentians to our north, however, had plenty of snow.

Mt. Tremblant, 90 miles northwest of Montreal, was offering a ski week package and I decided to take advantage of it.

Patti Smith on “Here We Are”

Patti Smith lives and breathes in Nature – and writes and illustrates her discoveries. She’s befriended and rehabilitated  many critters over the years, created nature programs, and been the heartbeat of Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center (BEEC) since it began.
