Brattleboro Senior Meals Menu June 1 to June 3

June 1 – Salad Bar

Lettuce, tomato, Potato Salad,

Cheese, Boiled Eggs, Sliced Chicken,

Green Salad Fixings

Fruit Salad

 

June 2 – Pipe Down Pork

Applesauce

Red Skin Potatoes, Spinach

Strawberry Shortcake

 

June 3 – Tuna Noodle Casserole w/egg

Peas

Carrots

Mandarin Oranges

 

 

Seniors 60 and over we ask for a $3.50 donation  All others a charge of $6.00 Meals start at Noon to 12:30 pm

      Also known as " Pipe Dream

      Also known as ” Pipe Dream Pork” it’s a casserole of pork chops, potatoes, canned French onion soup and canned cheddar cheese soup. I’m not sure that ” interesting” even begins to describe some of the senior lunches.

        I have lots of old recipes, mostly from grandmothers, that use lots of canned ingredients and brand names. It was the space age.

          I have a collection of old cookbooks from small town guilds and church groups. A lot of the more “unusual” dishes that show up on the senior lunches are in these books. Makes for fun and curious reading.
