The program is designed for individuals diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis who have previously completed the Level 1 course. The classes consist of advanced strengthening exercises for the core and postural muscles as well as a continuation of progressive balance challenges. Level 1 education principles will be reinforced through class discussion while exercising.

Classes take place every Monday through April 22 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 PM in the BMH Exercise Room. The $60 registration fee includes a foam roller and resistance bands. Registration is required. Contact the BMH Rehabilitation Services department at 802-257-8255 for more information or to register.

According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, 55 percent of the U.S. population over 50 years old has low bone density. Research has shown that physical activity is beneficial for bone health, improving balance and posture, and reducing fall and fracture risk.
