BMH Nutrition and Cardiac Rehab Staff Host Mediterranean Dinner

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is hosting a special event entitled, “Mediterranean Dining: A Healthy Approach to Living,” sponsored by the hospital’s Nutrition Services Department and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

The event will feature a dinner of Mediterranean food and a presentation by Drs. Judy and Ed Flower, a clinical psychologist and a marriage and family therapist. They will address how chronic illness is not just an individual problem but involves the whole family system. They will speak from their professional orientation and their own personal experience.

The menu will include mixed green salad with homemade maple vinaigrette, whole wheat rolls, poached chicken breast with lemon zest, chives, and fresh herbs, couscous with roasted local vegetables, a vegetarian option of braised autumn vegetables and crispy tofu, and a homemade whole grain banana walnut cake.

The cost for the dinner is $11.95 per person. To make a reservations please call 802-257-8331, reservations must be made by September 29.

The BMH Nutrition Services Department is committed to providing local, nutritious, and sustainable food for patients, visitors, and staff.

The hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, is specially designed for people recovering from heart attacks, heart surgery, angioplasty/stenting, or continued angina symptoms.

The event, which is open to the public, will take place in the BMH Brew Barry Conference Center, located on the ground level.
