Old Eyeglasses Collection Box?

Hannafords use to have a collection box for old eyeglasses and they were passed on to a Lions Club. They no longer do this. Does anybody know if there is a collection box somewhere else?

    I believe there is an eyeglass recycling basket at the senior center. On a shelf on the left shortly after entering the downstairs space of the Gibson-Aiken Center.

    Your Eye Doctor will take them too

    At least most of them will, and you can always bring them to me (Dr. Ambler, Putney Road). Many of the Lions Clubs give them to me, because I’m a member of VOSH http://vosh.org/ which collects them for third world missions. Whole unbroken pairs only, please, and you don’t even need to bother with the cases, because they just add weight and bulk to the shipments.
