Japanese or Asian Language Groups Around Brattleboro?

Are there any groups in this area who get together to talk in Japanese?  I know there’s a Spanish group, so it occurred to me there might be an Asian group of some sort.  On behalf of a college-age relative who is extremely into Japanese (incuding anime, manga, foods), so I’m looking for possible social outlets.

    * Lunar New Year Festival of China, Korea and Vietnam, this very Sunday February 7th, 1-3pm, held at the new arts space downtown, 118 Elliot (information on the home page of accvt.org) – come and introduce yourself, and it’s a potluck, with a dragon parade and more.
    * Hinamatsuri, Japan’s Doll Festival, tentatively being held in Brattleboro Sunday March 13th (10 days after the traditional observance of 3/3)
    * Tanabata/Obon, Japan’s double summer festival in Brattleboro, happens during this coming August Gallery Walk in Pliny Park
