Free Scrabble Mentor

Club and Tournament Scrabble is more than just a pastime.  Like chess and bridge, it is played as a competitive sport all over the English-speaking world.  Brattleboro is fast becoming a hotbed of Scrabble players, with a weekly club session and a developing group of friends who take the game seriously (while alllowing room for laughter and orientation of newbies.

Like any competitive game, there are fundamentals and preparation involved with becoming a top player.  I am committed to promoting the game and to helping folks who wish to dive more deeply into the fascinating world of club and tournament play to improve their skills and become a part of this vibrant community.

If you’d like an introduction to the game or just to have questions, please contact me directly or show up for club any Thursday night. (See iBrattleboro calendar).

Once you’ve done that, I will be very willing to provide resources, coaching and support for your improvement.  I’ve been a director of numerous clubs, am the highest ranked player currently active in Vermont and would love to see you advance to a level where YOU can teach me a thing or two!

Note to younger players: You must be able to focus in an adult environment.  There are many really good players in the 12-14 age group.  If you come to club, you need not stay the whole evening.  Many school-aged players attend clubs and leave early.  We will waive the $3 fee for school-aged players.  If there is a base of young players, we will also create a middle-school team to compete in special tournaments and even nationals.

I’ll be away for a couple of weeks Oct 22-Nov 6, and will answer any inquiries received during that time when I return.

Hope to hear from a few folks!
