Brattleboro Living Memorial Park Pool and Rotary Water Playground To Open June 20, With Restrictions

The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department is pleased to announce that the Living Memorial Park Pool / Rotary Water Playground will be opening for the season on Saturday, June 20th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Priority will be given to Brattleboro Residents and will be open to Non-Brattleboro-Vermont Residents as space allows. Due to COVID-19, the pool schedule, fees, and procedures have been updated.

Pool Reservations: Pool reservations will be taken daily beginning at 10:00 a.m., and reservations can only be taken at the swimming pool by calling (802) 254-6700. Only 25 people including staff will be allowed into the gated area at a time. Please note that only same day reservations will be accepted, and you can only reserve one time slot a day. Additional slots may be available by calling the Pool after 2:30 p.m. When making a reservation you will be required to provide your address, phone number and first and last name of everyone in your reservation party. If all time slots are full you can add your name to the waiting list in case of no shows or cancellations. 

Time Slots: Pool reservations will be for a one-hour time slot only. These time slots are: 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., 2:15 p.m.-3:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., 4:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m..  Staff will be cleaning and disinfecting between each session while following recommended protocols from the VT Health Dept and the CDC.

The Hourly Pool Fees: Brattleboro Residents Students are $1.00; Brattleboro Resident Adults are $2.00; Brattleboro Resident children five years old and under are $1.00. Non-Brattleboro Resident Students are $2.00; Non-Brattleboro Adults are $3.00; Non-Brattleboro Resident children five years old and under are $1.00. Please note that Pool Passes will not be available for purchase this summer. In addition, anyone who enters the gated areas will be required to pay the above fee whether they are swimming or just a guardian watching and not go in the water. 

Additional Pool Information: Your party must come ready to swim, changing room will not be available. Restrooms will be available. There will be no picnic tables, benches or chairs provided on or around the pool deck this year. We will not be offering green bags for storage of personal belongings or life jackets this year. Toys and goggles will not be available for use from the Recreation and Parks Department; however, you can bring your own goggles into the pool. You and everyone in your reservation party will have their temperature taken before entering the facility. Anyone with a temperature reading greater than 100.4 will not be allowed to enter the facility. If someone in your party has a temperature greater than 100.4, the entire party will not be able to enter the facility. If you or anyone in your reservation party is not feeling well or have a cough, chills, sore throat, recent loss of taste or smell or have been in close contact with someone sick,  you should not come to the swimming pool.

    The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department is pleased to announce that beginning Tuesday, June 30th the pool capacity has been increased to 75 patrons. We will have two separate general swim sessions (1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. We will be using the first come first serve approach and reservations will not be required. Please note that from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily the pool will be closed for disinfecting.

    Please note the following:

    *If you or anyone in your party is not feeling well or have a cough, chills, sore throat, recent loss of taste or smell or have been in close contact with someone sick you should not come to the swimming pool.

    *All patrons will have their temperature taken before entering the pool. Anyone with a temperature higher than 100.4 degrees will not be allowed in the facility.

    *You must come ready to swim, changing rooms will not be available.

    *There will be no picnic tables, benches or chairs provided on or around the pool deck this year.

    *We will not be offering green bags for storage of personal belongings or life jackets this year. If you choose to bring a life jacket, it must be US Coast Guard approved.

    *Toys and goggles will not be available for use from the Recreation and Parks Department; however, you can bring your own goggles into the pool.
