Two Recent Hit & Runs in Brattleboro

HIT AND RUN

On July 17th 2015 at approximately 1300 hours Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department investigated a hit and run on a pedestrian in the area of the intersection between Elliot St., Frost St., Bridge St., Williams St. and Union St. The operator of the vehicle was described as having should-length blond hair. The vehicle was described as a green Honda Civic with a Vermont plate on the back only. ACCIDENT-(CAR VS. PEDESTRIAN) ARREST MADE

On Thursday, 07/16/2015 at approximately 22:12 hours, Brattleboro Police responded with Rescue Inc. and the Brattleboro Fire Department to Canal St. in the area of Elm St. for a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a motor vehicle. This vehicle was reported to have left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services. A 41 year-old male was transported to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of this investigation, Cara L. Rodrigues has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Rodrigues will appear in court at a later date to answer to this charge.

  • Slow and steady

    Brattleboro seems to have an unusually high number of these types of accidents. And there really is no need for them at all if people pay attention.

    Slow down! Look around!
