Police-Fire Facilities Project Public Sessions

The Brattleboro Town Manager’s office announces that the Selectboard is holding 3 special meetings to present information and hear public comment about the proposed alternatives for this project. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend at least one of these meetings:

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21, AT 9:00 AM, AT THE GREEN STREET SCHOOL GYM

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30, AT 6:00 PM, AT THE ACADEMY SCHOOL GYM (ASL interpreters will attend this meeting and BCTV will record it for later broadcast)

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2, AT 6:00 PM, AT THE BRATTLEBORO AREA MIDDLE SCHOOL MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM

The Town of Brattleboro seeks public participation to help decide how to move forward on this important project. The public safety and property tax impacts of this decision will affect our entire community.

The public is invited to attend, learn about options, and participate in the discussion

With the exception of the Green St. School these are pretty much out of the way for people to get to- especially anyone elderly or disabled. It would have been good if perhaps one could have been scheduled for somewhere downtown- the Senior Center or library. If people can’t get to the meetings there’s not much point in asking for public opinion. Or, if you really want the meeting to be in a location like Academy School then offer the option of a van to pick people up in a central location.
