Action Taken/Details:

At 11:46pm Brattleboro Central Dispatch received a call reporting a mobile home fire at 3 Record Drive in Mountain Home Park. The caller stated that fire was visible and that people were still inside.

Engines 3 & 4 and Rescue 2 responded on a 1st alarm. Upon arrival of Engine 4 from Station 2 at 11:53pm they reported a mobile home well involved. They were met outside by two occupants of the home who stated that two people were still inside. A hand line was stretched but the crew could not make entry into the home due to the amount of fire and heat. Engine 3 arrived shortly after that and more lines were stretched for extinguishment. The two occupants that were outside confirmed to us that there were two people still in the building, last known to be on the main floor. After the fire was knocked down a search was done and two victims were located.

The mobile home was destroyed in the fire and one of the other occupants received a 2nd degree burn to the back of his neck. The fire was declared under control at 1:14am. BFD was assisted at the scene by Keene Fire Department (Rapid Intervention Team), Rescue Inc, Brattleboro Police, Brattleboro Utilities Division and the Red Cross. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by Brattleboro Fire Investigation Team, Brattleboro Police, VT State Police Fire Investigation Unit and VT Division of Fire Safety.
