Construction Update: Repaving Project at Guilford Welcome Center on I-91 Northbound

Hello,
VTrans is resurfacing the Guilford Welcome Center parking lot, including entrance and exit ramps, for seven weeks. When the car parking area is paved, visitors will use the truck/bus parking area. Trucks, buses, and RVs will park at alternate sites for the duration of the project.
DATE: Thursday, July 18, 2019
LOCATION: The center is located on I-91 Northbound.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: The contractor began milling activities in the parking area and ramps to prepare for paving. This will continue into Monday, July 22. On Tuesday, the contractors will begin paving the ring road. This phase of paving is expected to last throughout the week.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:Car travelers will be rerouted to the truck parking area. The truck lot has been restriped and repurposed to accommodate cars.
The Welcome Center is not accessible to trucks, buses, and RVs until project completion on August 23, 2019.
Alternative parking locations for trucks, buses, and RVs (including overnight) have been authorized at the existing weigh station south of the Welcome Center. Pull-off areas on I-91 are also available on I-91 in Putney, and at the facilities located at Exit 7 on I-91 (see map below).
LOOKING AHEAD:The Welcome Center building may be closed for up to four nights to pave the ramps leading to and from the Center. Ramp closures will occur between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. from Sunday evening through Thursday morning.
