“Global Warming” As A Political Issue Fails To Take Into Account That Some Hot Days Are Caused By The Sun!

How much of what people call “global warming” is NOT man made? It’s just another hot day brought to us by our Sun!

Dr. Tamitha Skove, a space weather pysicist, posted on twitter that a filament of a solar storm on the Sun would arrive on Earth early July 19th.

Well, we can look at the weather forecast and see it will be warm tomorrow.

A solar flare is a sudden release of energy from the surface of the Sun. A “CME”, a coronal mass ejection, can take around 3 or 4 days to get to Earth, so when you see the Sun acting up July 17th, that may mean July 19th it gets really hot.

“Slower CMEs can take several days to arrive.”

So, how can school children learn a that not all hot weather comes from man made “global warming”?

Let’s go to https://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/#carouselExampleIndicators and look at the display of pictures of our Sun taken with different camera filters.

The one I look at most often is the second one to the right, it is very plain looking, but when it has dark spots on it, that means stuff has left the Sun and has flown off, and may be headed towards Earth. The more spots, the hotter it might be on Earth soon. And, you can’t blame man made global warming for what the Sun does.

I just think it is important to give a whole honest picture of where hot weather comes from! I’m Cris Ericson, an independent candidate for U.S. Senator, on the Nov. 8, 2022 election ballot. See the Vermont Secretary of State, Elections Division, 2022 Candidate Information, click: 2022 candidates for the general election. https://sos.vermont.gov/elections/

The Democrats and Republicans nationwide are screaming at each other and protesting and having all manner of goings on to bring to public attention to their facts that the other side is wrong on political issues, including global warming and everything else.

Draw a cartoon: the Democrats are turning blue and and the Republicans are red in the face; and both could be giving themselves raised blood pressure. I would find one of the Missouri Democrat candidates for U.S. Senator for their Aug. 2, 2022 primary funny but for the fact that she’s running against my first cousin’s son. Trudy Busch Valentine’s campaign slogan is something like, “we need a nurse! it is time to vote for a nurse and bring both sides together!” My first cousin’s son, Lucas Kunce, Democrat for United States Senator in the Aug. 2, 2022 primary in Missouri, makes a lot more sense to me: Lucas will bring more power to the people and take power away from corporations.

Lucas Kunce is the number one fundraiser of all the U.S. Senate candidates in Missouri, Republicans and Democrats. I want to bring him to the attention of Vermont Democrats because you all know you need new ideas about who could possibly be the Democratic Party candidate for President in 2024. Make no mistake about it, Lucas Kunce is the guy you want. I have photos of him as a teenager visiting up at my mother’s house in West Bolton, Vermont. Lucas spent 13 years in the U.S. Marines, rank: Major, JAG Officer, Law Degree in International Law, worked closely with the Pentagon. If he can win the August 2nd
primary in Missouri, and then win the Nov. 8th general election, flipping a red state blue, then he’s the guy every Democrat should be looking at for the 2024 Presidential election. If Lucas Kunce does win the Democratic Party primary Aug. 2, 2022 in Missouri then I’ll take out my family photo box and call U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy and ask them to help him to win the Nov. 8, 2022 general election in Missouri.

I’m an independent. I am more of a science and math kind of candidate. I just try to bring you the facts. My name is Cris Ericson http://crisericson.com
I do not believe that the public ideas of extremely hot weather and “global warming” should be blamed only on man made emissions. I think we need more science programs in schools for young children to learn about our Sun.

  • Except, no, that's not how it works...

“Although solar flares, and associated coronal mass ejections, can bombard Earth’s outermost atmosphere with tremendous amounts of energy, most of that energy is reflected back into space by the Earth’s magnetic field. Because the energy does not reach our planet’s surface, it has no measurable influence on surface temperature.”

    https://www.climate.gov/news-features/climate-qa/do-solar-storms-cause-heat-waves-earth

The CME coming up might do other things, but it won’t heat us.

“Modern society depends on a variety of technologies susceptible to the extremes of space weather. Strong electrical currents driven along the Earth’s surface during auroral events disrupt electric power grids and contribute to the corrosion of oil and gas pipelines. Changes in the ionosphere during geomagnetic storms interfere with high-frequency radio communications and Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation. During polar cap absorption events caused by solar protons, radio communications can be compromised for commercial airliners on transpolar crossing routes. Exposure of spacecraft to energetic particles during solar energetic particle events and radiation belt enhancements cause temporary operational anomalies, damage critical electronics, degrade solar arrays, and blind optical systems such as imagers and star trackers.”

Nice try, but the climate is changing due to human activity. : )

  • CME, March 13, 2022

    Dear CrisEricson.

On March 13, 2022 a CME hit Earth and I was able to photograph the Northern Lights, “aurora borealis” over Spofford Lake that evening. https://www.flickr.com/photos/mountain_gary/51935857562/in/dateposted/.

The Weather Underground historical weather data for that date at Keene airport is as follows.
Average high = 41.7°, Actual high for the day 18°
Average low = 18.7° , Actual low for the day 17°

Kind of blows that theory doesn’t it.

    Gary

    • Neat!

Gorgeous photo. I’ve never seen the Northern Lights in person, just in photos.

      • I got to see the Northern Lights in western Canada from my train seat in late May 1982

while riding from Vancouver east to Toronto, I think 3 nights and 2 days.

        Left quite the impression.

  • yes Gary's photo is fabulous, look at https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ today!

    https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/

scroll down lower right until you see the estimated planetary K-index chart, right now, 6 PM July 21, 2022
it has TWO RED LINES, whereas on July 19 there was only one red line
on the estimated planetary K-Index. IT IS ONLY AT A level 5 right now.

google: “What effects would a K-index of 9 have on the earth?
A K-index of 9 would signify the most extreme geomagnetic storm, which could cause power grid systems to collapse, radio and satellite navigation services to be disrupted for days and auroras to be visible in locations in low latitudes such as Florida and southern Texas.”

So, at a 5 Gary might find some more Northern Lights to photograph.

  • Northern Lights K-Index

I watch and get notifications from https://www.spaceweather.com/

In this area you really need Kp = 6 for much chance of seeing the lights. 7 would be better.

We are moving toward a solar max over the next few years, so a better change of seeing.

    Gary
