As did the authors of the Declaration of Independence, we find ourself in rare times. For the first time in our history, democracy itself is under assault by people bent on its destruction and along with it, the democratic values that guarantee our freedom. On Saturday, June 14, the two sides in the great battle between democracy and fascism face off in the first show of force since the Trump dictatorship began, officially, five months ago.
On that day, Trump will be celebrating his birthday with a massive parade of military hardware, including tanks, missiles, and rocket launchers. Ironically, Trump will be reviewing his mighty forces from a platform on Constitution Ave.
Meanwhile, the opposition, which is equally massive, is assembling in every city and town in the country, with the possible exception of North Dakota. The map is thick with dots showing places where protests are taking place. Brattleboro is one of them.
The military is on the streets of Los Angeles again today, a corrupt federal appeals court having stayed the earlier ruling that would have returned control of the National Guard to the California governor. The government’s “ICE” anti-immigrant raids continue and expand.
This is what we’re up against, and although saying such a thing isn’t “nice” (Trump’s favorite word), it really feels like a battle between good and evil. Right now, as always, evil is winning. But in an inspiring turn of events, good is taking a stand! Certainly it’s now or never. And anyway, what do we have to lose?
Good and evil may seem a bit hyperbolic, but when you stop to consider what is meant by these words, it becomes pretty obvious. Good is seeking to help others and not to harm them. Evil is seeking to harm others and not to help them. In general, people believe that inflicting pain on others is wrong. Deriving enjoyment from inflicting pain on others is even worse. Deliberate cruelty is wrong by almost any creed you consult.
America has never been perfect but neither have we openly and publicly stood for hurting and harming any people, whether we like them or not. On the contrary, we thought of ourselves as the good guys, riding to the rescue and helping those in need. We were the beacon on the hill.
And we can be again, but first we need to take our stand for good and stop the fascists. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen, as long as we stay true to our principles and don’t give up the fight.
PLEASE drive carefully tomorrow to and from your local Kings Day Protest!
There was a very bad traffic accident around 8 PM this evening, June 13,
at the corner of Rte 103 and Church St.
in Chester, VT and I went outside to have a look, and the first thing I wondered was,
are they starting the
Kings Day Protest early?
It’s supposed to be from 10:30 a.m. to Noon in Chester.
So, people can go from
one protest location to another
because of the different timing of scheduled events for Kings Day Protests.
The emergency vehicles were on both Rte 103 and on Church St.
so my dog was having a serious time barking in all directions.
Daisy does not approve of traffic accidents.
Please be careful driving, especially if you are going to more than one
protest at different times and locations and you are in an excited mood.

No Kings in Wilmington VT
Good crowd in Wilmington VT at the light. Several anti-protest vehicles passing thru. Squealing tires…coal burner type exhaust trucks. The usual clowns.

No Kings Protest Montpelier, Vermont
I’m trying to find YouTube video live from Brattleboro, VT
and I hope some of you post some, please.
I’m not going to any protest myself today.
I am in emotional shock and awe seeing a photo of my nephew,
age 17, today, boarding a flight to the U.S. Naval Academy
where he will spend an introductory week.
He’s exactly what they want, he started Early Engineering
College in Charlotte, North Carolina at age 16.
I haven’t started crying yet, but I’m shocked that the
adorable little boy who visited me
is now almost a man. At least the U.S. Naval Academy
can’t have him permanently unless my youngest brother
signs him over, or he waits until he’s 18.
So, I am just cruising YouTube looking at all the No Kings Protests
because I couldn’t convince a very bright young fellow to want to
become a doctor or lawyer or Indian Chief.
He only has one goal, he wants to be a Jet Fighter Pilot
like our cousin Ralphie was.
He wants to be in the U.S. Military like his Uncle Dominick was,
and cousin Lucas is recently retired from, sort of, he can always
be called back I think.
Remember, President King Trump will not be in office forever,
but our U.S. Military must go on forever for our protection.
Don’t forget that!
I will not bend the knee to the your blessed military
I will not support warmongering.
Don’t Forget That.
It’s tragic you know a young man who thinks there’s glory in killing.
Do we really want another stone in Malfunction Junction?
Enjoy your sevenbuck gas now that Israel attacked Iran despite the fatwa that prohibits building nuclear weapons that’s been in place for over twenty year.
and it's obscene to assert the military protects us
it serves the interests of those in charge of the American empire and nothing more
