The United States of America improves constantly as a Democracy and as a home to all of us! We have lots of reasons to celebrate July 4, 2026!
Thank God This Country Has Changed Life For the Better! Hallelujah! The good has risen some, and its still in the oven baking! Look at all the incredible progress our Country has made since July 4, 1776! The U.S. Bill of Rights was enacted on December 15, 1791.
Now, in my family history, way back in the 1600s, some of my ancestors on my family tree were deprived of their right to practice their chosen religion, and the King took 70% of their possessions and property to punish them because they refused to switch to the King’s choice of religion. They are listed on the Magna Carta Ancestry. Well, I do want my “reparations”, but my ancestors didn’t fight, they meekly turned the other cheek and sailed away, and came here. I see that now I can practice, or not, the religion of my choice. Also, I see that now, none of my relatives own Slaves like a few rascals did in the 1800s. And another thing, even though I am a woman, I can VOTE!
Our Country is not perfected yet, it is still in the oven, and the temperature is too hot right now, but we can lower it. We have to focus on the fact that President Trump will not be in Office forever. He’s causing a national anxiety attack with his manipulation of the stock market and of our emotions. We can actually do something about that, I have a valid plan. The War on Iran which President Donald Trump created, and with which he is manipulating the stock market and causing national panic and anxiety attacks, can be drained of the financial incentive that keeps big defense corporations motivated.
President Donald Trump is tormenting us with this off and on war every other couple of days! Off and on, and off and on, and off and on, the war sputters and stops then starts again, and the stock market bleeds and then Trump squeals with glee. He may be buying low and selling high. He appears to clearly have a formula.
We must demand a return on investment of our hard earned tax dollars which fund the defense industry. They make billions and billions of dollars in profits selling weapons and drones and jets worldwide to our Allies, but they make these profits using our hard earned tax dollars to produce defense products and sell them internationally, and they don’t give us a share even though they made themselves super wealthy using our money.
People don’t want to call this modern day slavery, but why not? You go to prison if you don’t pay federal taxes, and federal prison labor might only pay you pennies per hour. In the days of slavery, you were given food and clothing and a place to sleep in most circumstances. People just don’t like the comparison, but we are being forced by the threat of prison to pay federal taxes, or to let them be deducted right out of our paychecks, and sent to the I.R.S., and then the U.S. Congress votes to give our hard earned money away to corporations as subsidies, corporate welfare to the tune of millions and millions of dollars per the largest corporations.
How do you think Elon Musk became the richest man on Earth? Surely the richest man in the world doesn’t need to take MORE from us! And little is discussed about the harm Elon Musk is causing when re-entering satellites cause unmistakable pollution and dangerous debris. It’s like he’s beating us over the head and robbing us blind at the same time. SpaceX Starlink Satellites are Damaging our Ozone Layer!
SpaceX is retiring first-generation (Gen1) Starlink satellites with 4-5 often burning up daily as they deorbit. As of early 2026, over 1,500 of the 11,000+ launched satellites have reentered. They create significant aluminum oxide pollution in the upper atmosphere, damaging the ozone layer.
https://spaceweather.com/archive.php?view=1&day=06&month=08&year=2025
“A simulation by NOAA scientists suggests that aluminum-rich space dust could heat the stratosphere and mesosphere by up to 1.5°C, and slow the southern polar vortex, potentially altering global weather patterns.”
We, the People, must demand the equivalent of stock market shares, of dividends, by demanding that we receive a share of profits huge corporations make with our tax dollars given to them as subsidies. Tax dollars go into a corporation, and shares of profits should go back to the people. If we don’t demand a share of profits made using our tax dollars, then the rich will continue to get richer and the hard working people will strugle more.
I want to point out that this demand of a share of profits is not double taxation! Corporations must continue to pay taxes, under my plan, but they must also pay an additional fee of a share of profits made with our money, our tax dollars, that the U.S. Congress votes to give them as “subsidies”.
We can end the abuse the U.S. Congress has been subjecting us to for years and years, making the rich even richer and making hard working people struggle more. Remember, all of the current elected incumbent officials have no incentive to stop this. The corporations which receive huge subsidies then provide some of the money to non-profits and political action committees which re-route the money here and there until it is laundered enough to put into the campaign accounts of the current U.S. Congress members in office, all the while they say they didn’t receive donations from corporations. It’s a sleight of hand card trick, and we have to stop being played.
Please learn to spell my name so you can give me a write-in vote on the Progressive ballot for Representative to Congress: Cris Ericson.

July 1st is a very, very special day to celebrate in Vermont thanks to our U.S. Constitution!
Did you know that homosexual same sex marriage was a criminal offense in 1776 and some of the original 13 Colonies would punish it by death?
Same sex marriage became legal in Vermont on July 1, 2000, so celebrate July 4th!
The reason we celebrate states’ rights on July 4th is because the United States
Constitution does not mandate that all of the laws in all of our States shall be the same.
We have the freedom in each State to make some laws that are different than other States.
In 2015 same-sex marriage became legal in all 50 U.S. states because in the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges ruling ensures that same-sex couples have the fundamental right to marry nationwide.
July 2nd is a wonderful day to celebrate America & start making potato salad for July 4th!
Making potato salad always takes me so long, chopping up all the different fresh crispy yellow, orange, red, purple and green healthy and delicious vegetables into very small little bits and squares. July 2nd, today, will be hot again, a good today to get up very, very early and cook the potatoes. Take life one step at a time on these hot days.
Now, the political climate was once as hot as holy hell in the United States of America, but then look what happened!
One year on July 2nd:
Recreational Marijuana (2018): House Bill 511 made Vermont the first state to legalize recreational cannabis through the legislature. The law, signed by Gov. Phil Scott, went into effect on July 2, 2018.
And another year on July 2nd:
Encyclopedia Britannica
https://www.britannica.com On-this-day July 2, 1964.
“On this day in 1964, US President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act, perhaps the most important US law on civil rights since Reconstruction.”
If some of our creative thinkers in Vermont decide to hold a funeral for America July 4th, I guarantee you that America will reincarnate and come back with fireworks by midnight!
Excerpt from today's email from Congressperson Representative Becca Balint of Vermont
Vermont was not a State on July 4, 1776 so why should we celebrate?
O.K., so Congressperson Becca Balint sends an informative email this morning, she automatically wins the Democrat primary election
because there is no other candidate on the ballot running against her as a
Democrat for Representative to Congress. She’s feeling happy. But, keep
in mind, I am asking voters to take the Progressive party primary election
ballot and celebrate freedom of speech with me by giving me, Cris Ericson, a write-in vote for Representative to Congress on the Progressive ballot which has NO candidate listed.
Here is an excerpt from Representative Becca Balint’s email today:
from: Rep. Becca Balint
date: Jul 3, 2026, 9:14 AM
subject: The Balint Bulletin: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
“Dear Friend,
I want to wish you and your loved ones a relaxing, fun, and safe holiday
weekend. As America celebrates 250 years of independence, let’s use
this milestone to reflect on our history and what America’s future should
look like. Especially as we mark this occasion, we must remember that
it’s always on us to strive for that more perfect union that we give voice to.”
How confusing is it for some Vermonters to celebrate July 4th when Vermont was not a State in 1776? What exactly are Vermont children taught in schools?
On July 4, 1776 Vermont was a disputed, wild territory called the
“New Hampshire Grants” and claimed by both New Hampshire and New York, and also ruled by Great Britain. Which of your neighbors were loyal to which government trying to simultaneously control your life? Who could you trust in a time of ongoing war?
During the Revolutionary War of 1776 the American soldiers built a military fort at Mount Independence in Orwell, Vermont.
This fort was used to help stop a British invasion. In January 1777, Vermonters declared independence from both Britain and New York, and declared themselves to be the Vermont Republic.
The Vermont Republic did not join the United States as the 14th state until March 4, 1791.
So do we, or do we not, celebrate July 4th?
Well, unless you’d rather live in Russia or Iran or just about anywhere else in the world that is not as FREE as we are here, despite the need for progress, I think we should all be down on our knees praising God and kissing our soil here in Vermont. I took a few YouTube shorts on my little piece of paradise here in Vermont which I
am so incredibly grateful for.

We have it really good here, for the most part, so let’s appreciate it. I must say that one of my priorities is to secure federal funding for housing for the homeless if I am elected.
Please recite with me this age old poem: Good, better, best, never let it rest, until the good is better, and the better, best.
God Bless America!
