New Year’s Eve Party at Brattleboro VFW Dec. 31st

New Year’s Eve tickets on sale now for Dec. 31st at the Brattleboro VFW. Doors open at 5 pm, meal at 6 pm, and The Visitors Band starts at 7:30pm. $20 a ticket gets you a choice of prime rib or garlic roasted pork, salad, baked potato, veg. and roll. Snacks at 10 pm, and party favors will also be handed out. A champagne toast at midnight for those of age. Come into the VFW and choose your table now. $10 per person for the dance only. Public is welcome

“One Twin At A Time” at Next Stage on Thursday, November 21

Next Stage Arts Project and the Putney Historical Society present filmmaker Mike Leonard and his delightful documentary “One Town at a Time” on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 pm. The film explores and celebrates the great state of Vermont one town at a time, and is part of the monthly Next Stage [FRAMED] hosted film series. Mike will lead a Q&A session following the film.

In 2006, during a summer between semesters at college, director Mike Leonard took on the challenge of visiting every town in the state of Vermont by joining the 251 Club – a unique organization dedicated to exploring The Green Mountain State.

NEYT Fun and Funny Family Friendly Show!

New England Youth Theatre proudly presents, “Clown TV!” A play written and directed by NEYT alum Doran Hamm, aided by Amy Majer, Putnam Smith, and all of the young comedians, “Clown TV! “ is uproarious fun for the whole family. 

“My favorite part of the process is the collaboration with the kids. We had this concept of clown tv, which is a rich field to plant in,” says Hamm. “We compiled a bunch of different ideas, we all voted, and democratically chose the top nine options to create scene work in.”

Dance Party at the Brattleboro VFW

The Brattleboro VFW at 40 Black Mountain Road will be having a dance Saturday, Oct. 19th. Version 6 Band will be playing from 7pm-11pm. Doors open at 6 pm. $10 cover charge per person. Emma’s Revolution Concert Oct. 25 To Benefit CASP

They’re back! — Emma’s Revolution will return to All Souls Church on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m. with a concert to benefit the Community Asylum Seekers Project (CASP).

Pat Humphries and Sandy O, the duo that makes up Emma’s Revolution, were among the many musicians who performed for the sold-out Pete Seeger 100th celebration at the church back in May. They are returning to lend their enthusiastic support for CASP, whose mission is to provide basic needs and a supportive community for those in the process of seeking asylum in the United States.

Concert to Benefit Asylum Seekers

WEST BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – The duo Emma’s Revolution will present a concert to benefit the Community Asylum Seekers Project Friday, Oct. 25 at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church at 7:30 p.m.

   Emma’s Revolution is the dynamic, award-winning activist duo of Pat Humphries and Sandy O, whose songs have been sung for the Dalai Lama, covered for Holly Near and praised by Pete Seeger.

   With beautiful harmonies and genre-defying eclecticism, the performance will include tributes to Seeger, a friend and mentor to the duo.

Next Stage Arts Project presents The Akwaaba Ensemble, traditional African drumming and dance, at Next Stage on Friday, October 4 at 7:30 pm.  Opening for Akwaaba Ensemble will be award-winning performance artist, singer, musician and author U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo. Tickets are $20 advance available online, at the Putney General Store and at Turn It Up! in Brattleboro, and $24 at the door. Next Stage is located at 15 Kimball Hill, Putney, VT, and features a recently-renovated state of the art performance space with a great dance floor, sound system, and beer and wine cash bar.

Vermont Jazz Septet On Stage at Main Street Arts

SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. – The Vermont Jazz Center Sextet makes a return visit to Main Street Arts in a performance Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. featuring the music of some of the greats of jazz.

Works by Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Art Blakey, mixed in with some original music and arrangements written by members of the ensemble, promise an up tempo experience for lovers of jazz.

Dinner/Dance at the Brattleboro VFW Public Welcome

VFW Post #1034 will be having their  POW/MIA dinner dance Saturday, Sept. 14th. Doors open at 5 pm, dinner served at 6 pm, and dance begins at 7 pm. $10 charge will be for the dinner & dance, or $5 for the dance only after the meal is over. Dinner will be applesauce, garlic roast pork, baked potato, roasted veggies, and blueberry dessert. Reservations are needed by Thursday, Sept. 12th.

Fourth Annual Brattleboro Youth Rock Festival Comes to Town Saturday, September 28; Official 2019 Line-up Announced

Youth bands and solo artists from around New England are gearing up to take the stage at the Fourth Annual Brattleboro Youth Rock Festival. BrattRock 2019 comes to 118 Elliot in downtown Brattleboro on Saturday, September 28. Gates open at 2:30 PM and performances take place on two stages, one indoor and one outdoor, between 3:00 and 10:00 PM.

In addition to non-stop live music, the festival features food vendors, interactive performances by the New England Center for Circus Arts, crafts and games, and plenty of family fun. All are invited to attend this all-ages community event.
