Brattleboro, VT, September 20, 2018–New Brattleboro animal training business Training Matters LLC will hold its premiere educational event for dog owners on October 13 at Upper Way Farm, 1104 Ames Hill Road, Brattleboro, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The VFW will be having a breakfast Saturday Sept. 22nd from 8 am – 10:30 am. This is not a buffet, but you may choose to purchase eggs made to order, sausage, bacon, tater tots, toast, homemade sausage gravy over biscuits, and pancakes with real maple syrup. This will be on the canteen side, not the hall side.

I’ve had an opportunity to drive around a bit more than usual, and one thing that pretty clear: there are a lot of dead animals on the road right now.
Skunks and squirrels seem to be the primary victims. They are all over, but also concentrated in some places. There’s a spot on Putney Rd where quite a few have failed to make it all the way across. There’s a place along Rt 30 near the bridge that also seems to have a bit of a pileup.
The Second Skatepark Design Meeting is scheduled for Sept 20th @ 6:30 pm at the Gibson Aiken Senior Center, Main Street in Brattleboro. You are welcome to attend this Visioning Design session with Stantec.

Can Author Preview Their Story Before Submission?
On behalf of Public Works, I was able to take a few aerial views of Lester Powers’ funeral procession earlier today. Lester served the town for 50 years from 1945 to 1995 and operated a road grader for the majority of that time. As such, Mr. Powers’ family requested one to lead the procession.
The Windham Regional Commission is pleased to announce $66,000 from the third round of the Windham County Renewable Energy Program has been awarded to the development of rooftop solar on the Red Clover Commons. The Energy Committee received three strong applications and chose this project as it best met program priorities. The installation will serve the elderly and disabled affordable housing development which is managed by a consortium of non-profit entities including Brattleboro Housing Partnerships, Housing Vermont, and Red Clover Commons Limited Partnership.
